program. The target audience for this training are youth staff (administrators, frontline workers or vendors) who are
new to the Massachusetts Workforce System and who have little or no knowledge of the WIA youth program as well
as those needing a refresher.

Event Description: The purpose of this session is to explore ways to maximize community resources to support literacy/numeracy gains for out of school youth enrolled in Title I WIA programs. Through interactive activities and structured dialogues, this session unpacks the challenges that programs have understanding and meeting standards created to demonstrate basic skill gain. The training explores different strategies that infuse literacy/numeracy into traditional and non-traditional learning environments. The intended audience for this training are WIA youth vendors.
