Regional LMI Profiles is an initiative of an interagency workgroup, facilitated by the Division of Unemployment Assistance, under the auspices of the State Workforce Investment Board and the Department of Workforce Development.
These regional profiles are designed to give state and local policymakers the tools they need to assess the dynamics of Massachusetts' many local economies, and to compare and contrast the economic performance of our states' varied regions. Profiles have been created for each of the Commonwealth's sixteen workforce investment areas, as well as for the state as a whole, and each includes data on the labor force, employment, unemployment, industry structure, wages, population and demographic trends, and job vacancies.
You can obtain a complete set of all seventeen profiles by contacting the Economic Analysis Department of the Division of Unemployment Assistance at (617) 626-5744, or you can access them at www.mass.gov/dwd.
