This was an interactive and upbeat workshop that utilized visual media and group activities to provide cutting-edge solutions to recruitment efforts for the youth population. Participants gained valuable insight on effective and proven methods of youth engagement and learned helpful tips on determining target demographics, maximizing recruitment efforts, and developing community partnerships to ensure recruitment success.

Speaker

Edward DeJesus

Edward DeJesus is the Founder, President, and CEO of the nation's pioneering youth policy and advocacy firm, The Youth Development and Research Fund (YDRF). For the past twenty years, he has committed his life to working with youth who need options beyond the streets. He has directed several major youth initiatives in the South Bronx, Harlem and Washington Heights sections of New York City. Mr. DeJesus has been featured in the Washington Post, Black Enterprise Magazine, The Miami Herald, The Baltimore Sun, and on National Public Radio (NPR). Mr. DeJesus is also the founder of Fair Chance for Youth (FCFY), an advocacy group of youth programs across the U.S. that fights for employment and training opportunities for youth placed at risk.
